I almost completely scrapped this card, and now that it is complete it is actually one of Steve's {my husband} favorites for this years Christmas season ... funny how those things happen *grin*. Anyways I'm feeling better, back to about 80%. Trying to get the guest room put back together, its almost there ...*big grin* and I am really excited. I am probably not going to manage to be able to participate this week in any of my favorite challenges due to being knocked on my butt and such a hectic week, but maybe I'll get to sneak in a hour or two tomorrow evening. Hope everyone had a great week-end !!

Another Christmas Card

Yesterday was my birthday and although I wanted a quiet day with my hubby, I wasn't planning on spending some time in the hospital ... *big frown*. I came down with a cold on Saturday but I am diabetic and have a very hard time fighting infection, so by Monday I had an ear infection. {Holy Cow - they hurt}Spent the entire day in bed, and most of today as well. Not sure if I'll get on track to participate in any of my favorite challenges but thought I would share another on of my Christmas cards. I actually made this on for a Penny Black Challenge (use two images) but never got a picture taken or posted on time. Oh well, at least I have one more Christmas card complete.

My Birthday Week-end and ....

It's official... I am SICK!!! So much for any Birthday plans I may have had. Actually we have been busy painting and putting up moulding in our Guest Room {which are my week-end/birthday plans}. I told my hubby I was tired of it being a storage room with a bed ....*grin* but it has been alot of work. Anyways I reaaly going to enjoy it once it is done .... *sigh*

So on to my crafting ... *giggle*. I have been spending alot of my crafting time trying to get Christmas Cards complete. In the past I would pick one image and mass produce enough cards to send out, but this year after participating in a few challenges I decided everyone needed their own special card ... {what wat I thinking ...*shaking my head*}Anyways just thought I would share another one with you - I was just so tickled at how it all turned out. I actually mad three cards using this cute Penny Black image I got last year from Crafty Capers. Hope everyone is enjoying their week-end :o)

High Hopes Challenge #92

The Challenge this week over at High Hopes this week is Red and Green {but it doesn't have to be a Christmas Card}. Since I really need to get my butt in high gear and get to workin on my Christmas cards, I decided this challenge would work perfectly for me ... yup another Christmas Card is complete but I still have tons more to do .... *giggle*. Guess I'd better keep myself going.

Hope everyone is having a great week-end. My hubby, my neighbour and myself have been hard at work doing reno's on the spare room. I was hoping we would have a beautiful guest room by monday but i think it won't be ready until later in the week. We keep adding more to the list ....*sigh*

WnW Challenge 35- Halloween

It's time for another challenge over at Wags and Whiskers. This week's challenge is hosted Jeanette and the challenge is Halloween. I don't think I have ever made a halloween card, but I really enjoy participating in the WnW Challenges so I gave it a shot. The girls over at WnW are really making me go outside my comfort zone lately ... *giggle* but it was soooooo worth it. Guess who won last weeks challenge .... *big cheezy grin*

Vintage/Shabby Chic

Well I really must say that I don't think "Vintage or Shabby Chic" is my style at all ....*lol* I spent hours mulling over this project and finally tossed it aside thinking, nope not this challenge .... *sigh* but when I got up this morning and took a second peek ...*big cheezy smile* everything came together {still really not my style}.Anyways head on over to Wags and Whiskers
You really need to check out the awesome cards the DT's made to inspire us *wink* and why not participate in this weeks challenge too!!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Stamp and Create has a monthly challenge and this month is "Pink - for Breast Cancer Awareness". Not only is this such a worthy cause but an awesome reason to participate in the challenge. I have lost a dear friend to Breast Cancer so any reason to spread the word is good to me .... Take a few minutes and go play along with the awesome girls over at Stamp and Create Challenge
I had a really hard time getting a good picture(I think because of all the light pinks) but here is my card for Stamp and Create challenge #6
Think Pink !!

September Birthdays

I have a couple of birthdays to celebrate in September... and both happen to be male. Much to my dismay, I still really dont have alot of masculine stamps. This is definately an issue since at least half the cards I make are for the "boys" ... *sigh* The good part is neither one would really say anything .... *lol* Anyways here are their cards, and I really must say that I am pleased with my results dispite the fact my darling husband (Steve) said that my Penny Black card was a little "girly". The top card went to my uncle Fred (although originally it was going to my brother, Jeff but is was too "lumpy" for the mail). So that means my little brother got my girly card .... *evil little laugh*. He's awesome though and always says my cards are nice !! He probably only cares about what's inside that card anyways ..... *lol*

Have a great week everyone, I'm off to do some crafty things *wink*

Celebrating "World Card Day" ... with a High Hopes Challenge

Everybody knows what the first Saturday of October means.....  it is World Card Day !! I knew that if I didnt make sure I made something I would have my butt kicked by all my crafty friends .... *lol* I purchased a stamp earlier this year by High Hopes called "Snow Yummy" with the poem "Snowman Soup". I had often heard the poem but to have it in rubber ..wow... I knew right away I needed these stamps and I also knew I had to make "Snowman Soup" for my Guiding friends here in Springhill. The big question was how was I going to present this .... *sigh*.Well lovely Lacey created a sketch for this weeks  High Hopes Challenge ... so I jumped completely out of my comfort zone, made something that was not a card ... and still tried to follow Lacey's sketch. I'm really pleased at how everything turned out.
